Two people were killed and three others seriously injured after a vehicle went out of control and plowed into pedestrians in Manhattan, New York. The accident occurred on Friday afternoon around 6:00 PM when a car driven by a 61-year-old man sped through an intersection, struck a parked van, and crashed into a group of people outside a barbershop. The three injured men, aged 36, 44, and 51, were rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside hospital in critical condition.
The driver has been arrested as authorities continue to investigate what caused him to lose control of the vehicle, including whether he suffered a medical emergency. According to reports from CBS News, investigators do not currently suspect a criminal or terrorist act, and the investigation remains ongoing to fully clarify the incident.
