Sadly, it’s not uncommon to see animals used for hard labor and then abandoned without care once they’re no longer needed.
Such cases are countless and are continuously reported by animal welfare organizations. One of the most disturbing recent incidents happened in Llogara, where several horses were harmed.
Another tragic case comes from an area recently affected by wildfires, where a horse was left behind, still tied with a rope around its neck, as its owners fled to escape the flames.
The noble animal appears in a devastating condition, with severe burns exposing its flesh. Despite everything, the horse is still standing and can be seen approaching plastic containers on the ground, seemingly looking for water.
At this stage, if healing is not possible, the most compassionate choice would be to relieve the animal from its suffering under professional care.
